Camp Ekko Purgatory 2025
Friday, August 15 – Monday, August 18, 2025
Purgatory Resort, Durango, CO
The Rally
Camp Ekko returned to the San Juan Mountains for an unforgettable four-day gathering at Purgatory Resort. With 103 EKKOs filling the resort’s parking lot, this was one of the largest EKKO owner rallies to date — and a full event well before the first van arrived.
The event was organized around four pillars: community, learning, adventure, and physical health — a framework inspired by hosts Stef and James Adinaro of The Fit RV, who poured months of planning into making the rally a reality.
Friday: Welcome Night
Attendees rolled in on Friday, greeted with thoughtfully assembled welcome bags packed with custom Camp Ekko keychains (courtesy of FreedomVanGo), eco-plates with the Camp Ekko logo, Camco TST Pro pods, Kleen Freak shower wipes, Camp Ekko shirts, and raffle goodies donated by sponsors.
The evening kicked off with sandwiches from RVHelp, a potluck featuring an overflow of desserts across two banquet tables, and icebreaker Bingo. The highlight was a 71-person game of Left Right Center — the laughter audible all the way back to Durango. Spontaneous singing and dancing broke out, with the crowd rewriting “I Love Rock N Roll” on the fly as “I Love Camp Ekko.”
Saturday: Learn & Geek Out
Saturday was dedicated to knowledge-sharing. Technical sessions covered batteries, tires, cassette toilets, and general Winnebago tips. FreedomVanGo’s Grant Wilson ran a hands-on DIY workshop where attendees installed an Exterior Door Security Plate kit and Upgraded Exterior Storage Cabinet Seals on the spot.
The popular Mod Tours invited owners to place a bright green sign in their windshield to welcome visitors inside for a look at their custom upgrades. Walking rig to rig felt like a rolling Parade of Homes, only with more solar panels and homemade couches.
Saturday night’s entertainment was RV Family Feud, hosted by James Adinaro in full suit channeling his best Richard Dawson. Team Sprekko took the win, with Team Trekko already plotting their revenge.
Sunday: Mountain Adventures
Sunday was for the outdoors — chairlift rides, hikes, games, and crafts at Purgatory Resort. A bear spotted at the edge of the parking lot reportedly wondered why it hadn’t been included in the potluck sign-up.
Monday: Closing Reflections
James and Stef closed out the rally with a reflection on the four pillars that shaped the event, leaving attendees with not just memories, but ideas about how to thrive in the RV life they all share.
San Juan Mountains Association
A portion of event proceeds supported the San Juan Mountains Association (SJMA), the nonprofit stewardship partner working to protect and maintain the public lands surrounding Purgatory Resort.
